Visiones del Caribe is a project that aims to explore the multiple meanings of the Caribbean through literary works—travel diaries, stories, poetry, etc.—and cartographic resources—maps, atlases, itineraries, etc. Its main objective is to create and offer educational content to reflect on the Caribbean as a complex geographic and cultural space, defined by the different communities that inhabit and transit it.
Introducing sources through GIS
We use GIS to introduce primary sources, allowing students to spatially analyze the connections, meanings, and complex relationships of the cultures, histories, and identities of the Caribbean.
